Miro Academy: Enhancing the Service with UX Audit

Overview

Miro Academy is a learning platform for teams and individuals onboarding to Miro, helping users understand the product’s capabilities and unlocking its full potential. Miro Academy sought to enhance user experience to boost platform performance and invited us to conduct a comprehensive UX audit, utilising interviews, think-aloud testing, and prototyping to uncover user needs and pinpoint areas for improvement. This iterative approach led to actionable recommendations that streamlined navigation and increased user engagement, supporting sustained adoption by new and returning users.

Challenge

Ensuring a seamless user experience was crucial to improving platform performance and increasing product adoption. The challenge was identifying areas where the user interface and overall experience could be optimised to enhance onboarding and long-term engagement.

Approach

We conducted a comprehensive UX audit using a combination of interviews, think-aloud testing, and prototyping. The interviews allowed us to capture the needs and pain points of both new and experienced users. Think-aloud testing provided valuable insight into how users interacted with Miro Academy in real time, helping us identify friction points. Based on these insights, we developed prototypes to test possible improvements and gathered feedback through further user testing. This iterative process enabled us to recommend improvements to the platform’s user interface and overall experience.

Outcome

The UX audit led to actionable recommendations that improved Miro Academy's overall user experience. These enhancements contributed to smoother navigation and greater engagement, supporting the platform's long-term adoption by both new and returning users.
