Overview
Miro, a leader in digital collaboration, sought to enhance asynchronous teamwork for global teams working across diverse time zones. Recognising the importance of meeting user needs, Miro aimed to introduce functionalities that would truly support and enrich asynchronous collaboration. We partnered with Miro to develop a deep understanding of users’ requirements through a combination of research methods, including design sprints and user testing. This collaboration led to the creation of Talktrack, a recording feature that enables effective asynchronous communication.
Challenge
Miro aimed to help teams collaborate better asynchronously across different time zones. The challenge was staying focused on users’ needs while ensuring new functionalities enhanced asynchronous collaboration and provided real value to global teams.
Approach
We employed a combination of interviews and longitudinal studies and participated in several design sprints. These methods enabled us to gather deep insights into the user experience and track Miro’s users' evolving needs over time. Additionally, we conducted user testing and workshops, collaborating closely with the product team to align insights with actionable development steps. The result was a highly valuable recording feature - Talktrack that empowers teams to communicate effectively, regardless of location or time zone.
Outcome
With the help of our research and user-centred design approach, Miro successfully launched the Talktrack feature, which has been adopted by teams worldwide. The functionality allows for seamless asynchronous collaboration, giving teams the flexibility to stay connected and productive across different time zones.
